As I approached retirement, I decided to do something completely different from the tough but rewarding job of a First Responder. Being an officiant at weddings was my choice to make a difference.

These are happy times, fun but solemn as well.

I am an Officiant authorized by the Humanist Association of Canada and licensed under the Marriage Act of Ontario to perform marriages and other Life Ceremonies. I perform non-religious ceremonies including weddings, child welcoming, funerals and similar life events.

Although I am listed under Ottawa, I am licensed to perform ceremonies anywhere in Ontario. I generally prefer to work anywhere within a 30 minute drive from Ottawa, but will consider other locations if incidental expenses are paid.

I have been married for 38 years to my wonderful wife, Debra. My two grown sons are now raising their families. Having grandkids rocks! I never thought babysitting could be this much fun!

When I decided to become a Humanist Officiant, I realized I needed to polish up my public speaking skills. I joined Toastmasters International which is a world leader in communication and leadership development. I highly recommend this approach to self improvement. In between giving speeches at my local Orléans Raconteurs club, I was also the VP Education which involves helping the other members achieve their goals. I cannot believe how much fun we have had at the meetings!
